About The Author

Tony Butler was born in 1942 and lives with his wife, Sue and their daughter Katherine.  Tony, a professional magician, began writing routines and patter for other magicians and writing one-line gags for comedians.  He has also written and broadcast a series of ‘Morning Thoughts’ for BBC Radio Derby.  His short stories regularly win writing competitions but as yet his novels have yet to be published.

Having attended The Swanwick Summer Writing School for five consecutive years during which time he wrote five adult novels, he was encouraged to write a novel for children – Merlin’s Granddaughter..

He has recently completed a full-length novel, ‘Different’. The action is set in America and Britain, and is the story of how a teenage girl finds that she is developing strange powers and learns that she was the product of some unlawful genetic experiments conducted on her parents. 

Killing Cat, is a novel based on one man’s obsession to destroy, Catriona Travino, the woman who blinded him in one eye when he tried to rape her, years ago when she was a teenager. 

‘Time Pilots’, a 50,000 word novel is almost completed.

Merlin’s Granddaughter:  Rowena Pendragon, the thirteen-year-old secret daughter of King Arthur and Guinevere, was raised by the wizard Merlin.  Now, having been frozen alive in ice for 1500 years, by the evil Morgan Le Faye, Rowena awakes in our modern world and faced with a new enemy.
